Accomplishments

  • As councilmember, I have continued to bring City Hall directly into the community. I work with you to make sure your voice is heard and to build solutions together.
  • Along with community neighbors, we actively provide both cooked food and fresh groceries for free to Pomona families five days a week.
  • We revitalized all parks in District 2, including a skate park, the addition of the largest playground in the City, new bathrooms, and finding the funding to complete the development of a new community garden.
  • We spearheaded improvements to streets, sidewalks, and alleys throughout the District, including on Mission Blvd., Phillips Blvd., 6th Street, 9th Street, Linden Street, Park Ave., and Hamilton Blvd.
  • I have expanded youth mentorship as a Garey High School football coach for the last four years, through partnerships with local nonprofit organizations, and by participating in school programs designed to inspire the next generation.
  • Over the past 8 years, District 2 has led the City in providing new housing of all affordability levels, with an emphasis in targeting Pomona residents through our first-time home buyers program and inclusionary housing program.
  • As an immigrant myself, I took a public and deliberate stance in response to federal immigration enforcement actions affecting families in Pomona and was at the forefront of Pomona's response to ensure all Pomona residents are protected from ICE.
